The Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Dyersburg State Community College are once again partnering to offer Operation Jump Start, an intensive 6-week, 36-hour entrepreneur training program.
Dr. Jamie Frakes, Director of the Small Business Development Center at Dyersburg State Community College, and Ron Coffman, also with the Small Business Development Center, will facilitate the program. “We provided this program in 2008 for individuals interested in starting or expanding their small business venture, and completed the course with 18 graduates.”
Applications for the Operation Jump Start program are available at the Chamber office in the Lannom Center, and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Dyersburg State Community College. Applications must be filled out and returned no later than October 15th. Class size is limited to 15 participants and a course fee of $60.00 is required.
Classes begin in November and will meet from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lannom Center.
“The Jump Start program is one of the best programs we’ve ever offered small businesses,” stated Chamber President/CEO Allen Hester. “It’s a tremendous value for only $60.00, plus, to enhance our support of the program, the Chamber will be providing grant money to selected entrepreneurs upon completion of the course.”
