The 2009 - 2010 Dyer County Adult Leadership Program kicked off in September with a reception hosted by the Leadership Alumni Association at the Lannom Center. Class members had the opportunity to get acquainted with their group, meet alumni members, and learn more about the program.

The first class trip took place in October at Camp Mac Morris for team building exercises followed by Ag Day. The full slate of activities will include a joint session with Youth Leadership for diversity and volunteer opportunities, industry tours, education, State Legislature, downtown/local government, healthcare, and law enforcement.

Class members for the Dyer County Adult Leadership Program include: Chris Donelson with Tencom Technologies; Patrick Williams with Johnson-Williams Funeral Home; Teresa Younger with Fastenal; Matthew Gant with L.D. Gant State Farm Insurance; Mike Samples with Dyersburg State Community College; Jared Agee, Security Bank; Reni Bumpas, Life Choices; Jason Farrer, Sun Products; Angie Laird, Forcum Lannom Contractors; Danielle Williams, First Citizens National Bank.

One member of the Dyer County Adult Leadership Class, Patrick Williams, is no stranger to the leadership program. "I was fortunate to have participated in the Youth Leadership program," Williams said. "The Youth Leadership program exposed me to various community organizations which impacted my ideas as I progressed in my endeavor to become more involved in community functions and events. As an adult, I will hopefully be able to use those ideas as I focus on making Dyersburg/Dyer County a greater place to live."

Williams further stated that, as an adult, he appreciated more, the bonds of trust and friendship that were established at the COPE outing.
