The Dyersburg and Dyer County area offers excellent amusement and recreational opportunities. Dyersburg municipal parks and the Dyersburg Community Center offer various recreation programs for all ages. The local senior citizens building is located at the Community Center.

Fyrne Lake Farms, LLC is a 110 acre private lake with over 6 miles of shoreline. Ten minutes NW of Dyersburg. (formerly named Viar Lake)
The Dyersburg Country Club at the Farms is a semi-private 18-hole championship course with bent grass greens and zoysia fairways and tees, and has a new 7,000 square foot clubhouse and outdoor swimming pool.
Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course offers 18 holes and a new clubhouse. Golf Digest lists it as one of the best municipal courses in the United States.
Oak View Links is a 9-hole course at the Oak View Links facility in Newbern, Tennessee features 3,310 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36.
The Oakview Recreation Center in Newbern offers 9 holes of golf, public tennis courts and outdoor swimming pool as well as youth and adult ball fields, walking path, picnic areas, and a riding arena.
Dyersburg Neighborhood Activity Center houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, wooded picnic area, wading pool, recreational facilities for youth, snack bar, gymnasium, exercise equipment, ball fields, and facilities for senior citizens.
Reelfoot Lake and Wildlife Refuge, a state park 22 miles north of Dyersburg, was formed by a series of large earthquakes in 1811 and 1812. Thousands of visitors come each year for its natural beauty, picnicking, camping, and to see the American bald eagles nest each winter.
Dyersburg Parks and Recreation has year round activities for the family such as soccer, basketball and baseball leagues.
Dyersburg State Community College has a beautiful walking trail lined with exquisite specimens of native trees.
Everetts Lake offers picnicking water sports and fishing.
The YMCA, opened in 1996, has 1,000 members, a fitness center and various family activities.
Lady Luck Casino, located 22 miles across the Mississippi River Bridge in Caruthersville, Missouri, contains a 100-seat lounge, 75 seat sports bar, restaurant and ticket operations for a riverboat casino.
Dyer County Fair opens every year on Labor Day and runs for one week. Carnival rides, livestock exhibits & shows, horticulture, crafts and first rate entertainment are just some of the reasons the fair was selected "Best of State" among other communities of comparable size.
December brings holiday shopping marts, Christmas open houses sponsored by retailers and of course, the much loved Christmas Parade! In Dyersburg, the parade takes place each year on the Monday following Thanksgiving. The biggest parade in the region, Dyersburg boasts over 150 individual entries including colorful floats, marching bands, the Shriners clowns and of course the arrival of Santa Claus!
